The Penn State "Power x Performance" Project
Welcome, guest. This is a "wiki," a user-maintained collaboration platform. This web space encompasses the web presence of the
Power x Performance project at The Pennsylvania State University's computer science and engineering department. This site is hosted under the
MDL? wiki and the project is a joint effort between members from the CSE
MDL? and
scientific computing groups.
If you are new to this site or to the concept of a wiki, please read
WelcomeGuest, which introduces the concept and will ease your transition. Our sincere hope is that you shouldn't need to read the welcome page to browse the site, but it will help explain some idiosyncracies of the wiki experience.
About the project
The purpose of the
PxP project is to develop new and effective ways of reducing power consumption without impacing performance in large super-computing clusters like the IBM
BlueGene/L mega-cluster. I'll let someone else write more about this here.
